21st Feb
... I arrived back in Perth. I had to carry a 2kg mirror back with me as I wanted a full length mirror, so that was the nastiest part of the plane trip. Overall, my stay in Malaysia was again super duper awesome, and I got quite a lot of red packets for CNY. So excited!

Just wanted to share some photos that I took in Malaysia, just to show you what happened, what was around me, what I ate, my family and relatives... but unfortunately, my brother did not have the opportunity to come to Malaysia with me, as he did not have a plane ticket. CNY was slightly lonelier...

Here are the pictures though, enjoy! (Sorry... they are out of order...)

Trip to Penang! The view of the road side...

Hawker Centre! This is where the good food's at!

Minglish... just look at the translation... sigh...

Delicacy... "Po Pia" of Penang...

French restaurant where I dined for my 18th birthday!

Tiger beer... the signature mark of my 18th! XD

Escargots... the delicacy that I had for my 18th... yummm...

Chinese New Year/ my birthday at Penang! Mum, Dad, cousins and Aunt! =)

The open drains of Malaysia... this is the view of the front door of my neighbour's house...

Had to once again leave my parents after my trip, and came back ready to start university. The past few days of orientation have been great, and I'm totally looking forward to this new start, despite the unforgettable, relaxing and enjoyable end.

One week in M'sia

[wahaha... finally have time to do some updating... man.. DIAL UP INTERNET = Hui DESPISES... =P... man... hopefully this post turns out fine too... missin ya all in perth! hui hui]

Aims and thoughts when flying to Malaysia...
  • Eat as much as possible
  • Shop as much as my body can take
  • Visit my old pal
  • Spend time with Mum and Dad
  • Spend time with relatives during Chinese New Year
  • Enjoy the whole tropical experience before coming back to temperate Perth
  • Keep in contact with buds in Perth
With these thoughts in mind, I sat on the plane (next to quite a friendly guy) and flew to Malaysia. In the 5 hour plane trip I managed to watch The Guardian and ... this other movie with The Rock in it, but I have forgotten its title. It's the age... because I've just turned 18!!! Yesterday!!! Seniors' moment...

Anyway, after about a week and a half of staying in this awesome place, I've accomplished nearly everything, except points 2, 5 and 6. Point 2 is never ending, so that doesn't really count; point 5 is yet to come; and point 6... the problem is that, I can't really "enjoy" the tropical experience. All I see is rubbish along the road, uncovered gigantic drains next to houses, random banana trees growing on the roadside... I don't know, it's a little bit hard to appreciate the experience when all this is just around the corner. However, I am enjoying the weather, despite the high humidity; and more importantly, I'm enjoying my stay here because of the people I'm with and because of the things I am able to do!

I feel really lucky to be able to do all these things, all provided by my awesome parents. Last night was my birthday celebration, they took me out to a French restaurant, and I tried escargots!!! Another weird thing that I've tried in my life... on my 18th birthday! To top it all off, Mum bought me a can of Tiger Beer, just as a "signature mark" of my 18th. I'm entirely, totally, undoubtedly LEGAL! Feels good... but old at the same time.

Photos and all shall be posted when I'm back in Perth. Dial up internet... I sigh at you.
